Editor: Unfortunately, 20 tank brewery is closed. You could try Gordon Biersch 2 Harrison Street on The Embarcadero (www.gordonbiersch.com), Rogue Ales Public House at 673 Union Street (www.rogue.com), Beach Chalet, 1000 Great Highway at the ocean end of Golden Gate Park (www.beachchalet.com) or Thirsty Bear at 661 Howard Street (www.thirstybear.com). Any other ideas?
Editor: Met up with a friend at SPQR restaurant at 1911 Fillmore Street (near Pine). Walked in at 6pm. I had thought that early the place would be empty, but once inside, I found all the tables full and the place already buzzing. I assumed we would have to change our plans once my friend arrived, but I saw her waving at me from near the back of the restaurant. Luckily she had arrived earlier and had grabbed a couple of seats at the counter. The menu offers a number of small plate appetizers, a variety of their signature pasta dishes (all made with fresh pasta), several entrees, and some interesting desserts. We tried three of the appetizers (they offer special pricing on three or five appetizers), including the brussel sprouts and the ricotta with crustini. A great start. And even though it was a lot of food, we both ordered a pasta dish and an entree so we could try more of the restaurant’s offerings. And we even finished sharing a dessert! We enjoyed the meal, the service was great, and everyone around us seemed to enjoying both the food and the ambiance.

San Francisco Guide, magazine and website, offers lots of information about all the great things to do in the Bay Area. Space in the print magazine is, of course, limited to the printed page. And although we have much more information on the website, we can always use more eyes and voices to help spread the word about great adventures and excursions. So, let us know what you think.
